Stuart Doorbar Baptist
BSc(Hons) Physio (UK), MAppSci (Research), Sydney Uni · Member APA
UK-born, Stuart began his physiotherapy career in the early 1990s, rotating through specialist areas including burns, spinal injuries, amputee rehabilitation, cardiothoracic intensive care and MSK outpatients, alongside work as a sports physiotherapist for a rugby league team in the north of England. After relocating to Australia, his clinical interest moved toward the lumbosacral/hip complex, and later — following a course on the male pelvic floor — into a research masters at the University of Sydney investigating ultrasound in male pelvic floor dysfunction.
His research has been published in an American journal, and he continues to collaborate with researchers at the University of Queensland. He has contributed to books and journal articles in this field, sits on steering committees and think tanks with the Australian Physiotherapy Association, lectures in gender health at three Sydney universities, and runs a men’s health physiotherapy clinic in the Sydney CBD.
