Join us in Sydney for a practical workshop, designed for Rheumatologists, Radiologists, and Sports Physicians, to dive deeper into the role of ultrasound in MSK indications.

Hone in your ultrasound skills with this theoretical and practical combined workshop. We will be using world-class VINNO Ultrasounds for hands on scanning; receiving real time feedback and tips from experts in MSK Ultrasound. You will be supplied with reading materials on the day.
All delegates of any level of experience from beginner to advanced will have opportunities to scan volunteers with rheumatological conditions, improve their techniques for diagnosis and intervention, supervised by experts. You may be able to claim up to 8 CPD hours from your specialist Colleges or CPD Home.

Dr. Colin Chong
Dr Colin Chong is a Contents Expert for Radiology for the SEM, Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Medicine (ACSEP). Dr Chong is a senior Musculoskeletal and Interventional Radiologist and Chair of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists MRI Reference Group.
He completed musculoskeletal fellowships at both Vancouver General Hospital and St Paul’s Hospital in British Columbia and a paediatric radiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
His expertise has provided specialist diagnostic imaging for elite athletes and professional sporting teams in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.Colin was an appointed musculoskeletal radiologist for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Dr Chong is actively involved in teaching and research and was a keynote plenary speaker for the Australasian Society of Ultrasound, Australasian Sonographers Association , Alexandra Academy of Clinical and Emergency Sonography, Australian Institute of Ultrasound and Lead Radiologist for the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (AMSIG) 2024 Conference in the hands on ultrasound workshop. Colin was keynote plenary speaker and faculty member in over 80 scientific conferences with numerous publications including contributions to a best selling book on chronic and neuropathic pain (ISBN 978-3-031-10686-6), research grants and prizes, and a previous recipient of the prestigious Australian National Health and Medical Research Council Medical Scholarship.
Dr Chong was appointed the eminent Health Manpower Development Plan Visiting Expert by the Singapore government in 2023 to train and upskill specialists in sports medicine, orthopaedics and radiology.
A/Professor Fred Joshua
A/Prof Fred Joshua is rheumatologist who has an expertise in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis having completed a PhD in the use of ultrasound in rheumatoid arthritis and presenting research internationally in these areas.
A/Prof Joshua has pioneered rheumatological ultrasound in Australia and developed a degree for rheumatologists through the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine.
A/Prof Joshua has been involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors for many years having previously been awarded the Prince of Wales Clinical School Teacher of the Year. A/Prof Joshua is now involved in developing the undergraduate medical program at Macquarie University where he is A/Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology Clinical Discipline Head.
